Even in the middle of nowhere, there always seems to be an advertisement for something.
I wasn’t the least bit hungry–until I spied this sign along the highway. Then I could think of nothing but my new-found hunger for the next 50 miles.

Mmmm, yum.
Wouldn’t you know? Even without the sign, the landscape is compelling. I love the sky! And the contrasts between desert where it meets it the horizon is great! Colors are fantastic. Love it.
Love em but more I love the desolation of this billboard. What a fantastic shot to get an opportunity to shoot.
I have to wonder about the brain behind the advertising campaign that would put up a billboard in the middle of somewhere?? (I consider cities and civilization to be “nowhere”, because that’s nowhere near where I want to be!) He’s either nuts (Pistachios or otherwise) or he’s a genius (or both). Seems to have worked, at least on you!
Not really, Sunny. There was a gas station a few miles down the road. Even though I had a taste for those darn pistachios, I did not stop. I’m sure enough people do to make it worthwhile, though.
What a wonderful image, love the landscape (or lack of) around that sign! Look’s like a teaser to me!
What a delightful advertisement – interesting graphics and fun setting – in the middle of nowhere! Great catch.
Funny…the power of suggestive advertising! Must have taken will power not to stop!!
Look at that sky! Great shot of the billboard and surrounding landscape. I’m sure you’re right, enough people stop in to make that billboard worth his while!
Great find. The brains behind the billboard is probably the owner of he gas station!!
Lovely shot of the sign and the landscape. I would have stopped!
Where do they get Pistacios in the desert?
