Bird’s Eye View

177. Looking Down

177. Looking Down

Flying into Madison provides a great view of the city. The State Capitol is a bit right of center. The Capitol Building and Madison’e downtown is on an isthmus, only a couple of miles wide, and sandwiched between Lake Mendota (upper) and Lake Monona (lower). Living in the city, everything is quite near one lake or another, but I’m always surprised when I fly over Madison and see how much of the area is water vs. land.

A fascinating view. Is that Madison, WI? So interesting to see all the water surrounding it – almost looks like an island.
