‘Pink Dawn’ Crabapple

234. Pink

Flowers from one of the hundreds of crabapples that are in bloom at the University of Wisconsin – Madison Arboretum. Or maybe I should say were in bloom. After a wickedly loud and bright-with-lightning thunderstorm dumped nearly 2 inches of rain on parts of the city last night, I’m not sure how many of the trees are still holding their blossoms. I was able to photograph over a dozen varieties of crabapples  this week, but was planning on returning to catch the lilacs which weren’t fully flowered yet. Today it is clear, everything washed squeaky clean by the rains. I’ll go see how the lilacs fared.

Isn’t it fun…taking photographs of flowers? I can’t seem to stop! You caught such detail in this image. I want a macro lens so I can get more up close and personal with my blooms.

You executed this perfectly – the lighting and depth of field show off the soft blooms so well…

Beautiful blossoms! I love taking pictures of flowers, too. I love the detail in the front blossoms, and the softness of the rest.

Gorgeous color – and the blossoms are so fleeting! It’s great to capture them like you did.
