Sash, Doors, Blinds, Frames

190. Multiples

37. Building

A once thriving factory for wooden building supplies was housed in this red brick building. The company’s products–sash, doors, blinds, frames–are written on the bricks as well as the name of the city, Dubuque, Iowa. The building sits on a square block in Dubuque’s downtown, abandoned.

Whenever I drive through the city, I imagine how incredible this building would be if it were renovated into an artist’s co-op. Just think of all that natural light from window after window, streaming into all of the busy studios.

The rent would be cheaper than NYC, Chicago or LA.

    Interesting shot.

The writing on the walls really makes this photo interesting. It’s a wonderful old building.

Good shot I hate to see those old buildings unused, a total waste.

With those windows, it would make a great loft condo! Or apartments. Lots of people are now needing apartments having lost their homes. Nice old building. Looks like it is in good shape for someone to just come in and snatch it right up.

    GREAT shot too.
I sure hope someone grabs this and does something with it before it rots away.

Nice shot. It reminds me of the old shoe factory where I grew up in Maine.
