The Tall Ladder

278. Shades of Gray

Gray barn, gray roof, gray ladder. Shades of gray. I’m not sure exactly who would climb that ladder. It’s a very tall ladder. I’m beginning to think it is simply there for decorative purposes. It’s been in that location for the past several years, and never once have I seen it used.

Fabulous image – love everything about this! Love the shades of gray, the rugged texture and the shadow of the ladder! Really nice find and even better shot! Great perspective!

Great texture & maybe it’s the best place to store the ladder.

Typical man. Leaves his tools where he last uses them. lol At least the person who placed it there knows where to find it!

I like the way the trees assist in adding depth to the photo. The barn is a “blank slate” but with the ladder, it breaks up that feeling. I like the touch of red in what appears to be a snow blade.

Everything in this photo works so perfectly. I love the story and hearing that the ladder has been there forever. Such a nice shot.

Love the composition here. The blue of the sky makes the grays pop. Pretty funny that the ladder has been there for so long! Great shot!

This is really wonderful, ditto on all of the above especially the blast of red.

You have an eye for seeing the unusual, and this is unusual. That ladder doesn’t seem to be substantial. The shadow seems to come and go, too, depending upon what it rests on. Love that dash of red!
