Like Diamonds

292. Snow or Ice

After a 12 inch snowfall spanning the last two days, I had to go outside with my camera this morning. After all, the sun was shining! Started out bitter cold at 9˚F, but after I’d jumped in and out of the car a dozen times, I started getting warmer. I spent the last hour capturing bits of beauty at the local botanical gardens. I thought it had warmed considerably. When I checked the weather, the temperature had risen to 15˚. Hmm. Guess it is all a matter of perspective.

Very beautiful shot! It is sometimes exciting to get out in the cold and snap a few shots. It’s one of my favorite things to do.

I wish I knew about photography when we lived in Minnesota. There were some sights there that only remain in my memory. Love looking at diamonds!

You are right, Esther. I complain some about the long winters, but they offer many photo opportunities. So I guess I better not complain too loud.

Perspective it is!! You sure captured it here along with the gorgeous (only in the photograph!!) snow.

Snow is very hard to capture. Your diamonds show up very nicely, and then throw in the solitary bit of color really makes it pop. Great shot.

Beautiful champagne powder – a skier’s dream. How lovely to see the dried flora popping up on the diamond landscape – pure fantasy.

Almost doesn’t look like real snow – it’s white & not slushy

The sparkles in the snow are magical, especially in contrast to that barren plant.
