Sonic Goes Boom

80. Drive Thru or Take Out

It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been waiting for Sonic to break into the Madison market for years.

Now I finally scored and got a parking spot at the new Sonic on University Avenue in Middleton about a week after it opened. Not that I didn’t try to get there sooner, but there were always long lines. Really long lines –20 or 30 cars.

The food is a little more creative than your typical fast food place, and the Coconut Cream Pie milk shake was yummy!

Great night shot – lots of color and interesting repeating pattern. I’ve NEVER heard of Sonic, though… 😦

I like the nightime lighting. Our local Sonic doesn’t have any bright signs like this. I agree – the food is better than the normal fast food!

Love all the bright colors and reflections! We don’t have any Sonics up this way.

We have a Sonic in the old part of town that does a fair amount of busines. Then one day a new one opened at an intersection of the major north/south highway. It lasted about 4 months and closed. Why??? I don’t know. So about a month ago someone else took over the spot and there seems to be a fair amount of business now. It would be hard to convert a Sonic into something else, so I didn’t have hopes for it!! You caught a special time in the night of a Sonic image

The color and patterns keep my eye happy, fun shot.

Wow! I love the repetition in this photo – and your description of the milk shake sounds yummy. We don’t have Sonics here yet…
